On June 25th, we learned that hundreds of Salesforce employees had signed an open letter calling upon CEO Marc Benioff to reevaluate the company’s ties with Customs & Border Patrol, an agency engaged in the inhumane separation of families at the border. Two days later, Benioff rejected the employees’ demands, claiming that the software they provided to CBP was only “for recruiting efforts and correspondence with U.S citizens and lawmakers.”
In response to Salesforce and other tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft refusing to cut ties with Customs and Border Patrol, The San Francisco Progressive Alliance is hosting a rally and press conference at Salesforce Tower, where we will formally denounce these companies' continued engagement with agencies that perpetuate human rights abuse.
On July 9th 2018 at 10am, please join The San Francisco Progressive Alliance, tech workers, and members of the local community for a rally and press conference outside of 415 Mission St (Salesforce Tower). Let us know you'll be there!
